What is Gamma AI?
Gamma AI is a WhatsApp-first study buddy and educator assistant from Gamma School. Learners send homework photos or voice notes for step-by-step help. Educators can ask for lesson plans, worksheets, revision checks, and learner-support ideas. It is built for South African schools (CAPS and IEB).
Is Gamma AI free?
Yes — Gamma AI is free during our controlled pilot, with limited spots. We are inviting learners, parents, and educators across South Africa to help shape the product.
Which grades and curricula does it support?
Gamma AI supports all grades from Foundation Phase through Matric. Content is grounded in CAPS and IEB materials. Depth varies by grade and subject — FET (Grades 10–12) is currently our strongest lane, and we are honest when something is not ready yet.
Do parents need to consent if a learner is under 18?
Yes. Parent or guardian consent is required for learners under 18. When you join on WhatsApp, we ask for parent/guardian contact details so families stay in the loop.
Does Gamma AI replace teachers or do the work for learners?
No. Gamma AI scaffolds thinking and explains step by step — it does not replace teachers, write essays for submission, or guarantee marks. Educators adapt every draft. Learners stay responsible for their own work.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Gamma AI works on WhatsApp. Message us to join the pilot — no separate app download is required to get started.
What is Gamma School, beyond Gamma AI?
Gamma School builds and supports Moodle-based learning platforms for schools, NGOs, districts, and corporates — with practical AI where it helps. Gamma AI on WhatsApp is our learner and educator pilot; Moodle powers programmes at scale.
How do educators join the pilot?
WhatsApp 082 648 6946 and share your name, school, subject(s), grade(s), and what you need. We invite educators across all grades to help shape Gamma AI.
How is my WhatsApp data used?
We use messages to provide study or teaching support, operate the pilot, and improve the service. Private learner chats stay private — we do not forward transcripts to school staff. See our Privacy page for details.
